Merle H. Horwitz attended Hastings College of Law in San Francisco and UCLA in Los Angeles. Merle became editor of the Century City Bar News and contributed articles to various legal journals. He was also editor of the Pasadena Record—a weekly newspaper published in the 1960s and contributing editor to the State Labor News during the same period. He engaged primarily in trial work representing at times various motion picture celebrities in domestic related cases. His first book was one of the Harvey Ace books, published by Knightsbridge.  Merle was a member of the California Bar, the Beverly Hills Bar and the Century City Bar.  He also tried cases in a half dozen other states and wrote another Harvey Ace book and when that got boring he wrote, The Great Deli Cookbook—just to see if he could. It was a great success.  Merle was a pioneer in the 1970s writing one of the first books on laws regarding cohabitation. His current book, Love is Love… but, Business is Business is a second edition for those planning to live together in 2008. His new book, Judgment Hours, takes places in a Los Angeles courtroom and is a case about a famous performer... you might recognize Janis Joplin.
